Hopefully, vitamin and/or mineral tests were ordered on your first visit.  During you follow up visit(s), you’ll be able to get the results of those vitamin deficiency tests and get specific recommendations.  You may want to request copies of all tests for your files.  

  

Questions You May Want to Ask on Your Follow Up Visits

  • What deficiencies or excesses are indicated by the tests?
  • What are the implications of these deficiencies or excesses?  Can they or have they been harming me?  How?
  • What treatments and/or vitamin supplements do you recommend? 
  • What are the risks associated with these treatments?
  • What benefits would you anticipate? 
  • Are there any possible adverse effects or side effects of this treatment?  Do the benefits outweigh any risks?
  • Will anything you recommend interact with or interfere with my current medications?
  • Could the therapy you’re recommending interact with any conventional medical therapies or prescription drugs I’m currently receiving?
  • Are there any conditions for which this treatment should not be used?
  • Will this course of treatment interfere with any of my daily activities?
  • How long will I need to follow this course of action?  How often will we meet and follow up?
  • Under what circumstances should I call you?  What in particular should I look for?
  • What scientific articles, studies or websites are there about this course of treatment and its effectiveness?
  • After I am on this new regimen for awhile, will you be re-testing me to see if I’m in balance?  When?  Should I be leaving with a lab order today for these future tests?
